Not working for us

Our non-representative, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, has the entire month of August off work. In fact, she only has to work 12 days from now until November. And the fact that she earns $1,589.37 per legislative day gives her a nice fat paycheck. When she is at work in the House of Representatives, she misses work a lot, as records show the days she’s missed work, at 5.4 percent, are worse than the median of 2.2 percent.

But let’s not judge until we see what Cathy’s done for us when she has worked. She has voted no to equal pay for women, no to immigration reform, no to jobs bills, no to raising the minimum wage, absolutely no to affordable health care (over 50 times), no to unemployment extension, no to protecting vets, with a $1.4 billion cut in Veterans Affairs funding.

Well, what and who then, does she support, if not the people of the 5th Congressional District? That would be large corporations and rich individuals. PACs contributed $1,313,788, and large individual contributions totaled $1,038,471 (2013-2014). Cathy works for someone, but not for the people of the 5th. It’s now our turn to say no to her in 2016.
