People: Alicia Keys puts N.J. home on the market

From Wire Reports

Officials say Alicia Keys has put her 32-room northern New Jersey home and an adjacent property on the market with an asking price of $14.9 million.

The Record reported the singer bought the Englewood home two years ago from Eddie Murphy for $10.4 million. The neighboring property, also once owned by the comedian, was purchased for $1.7 million earlier this year.

The listing agent for the properties said Keys and her husband, hip-hop artist Swizz Beatz, plan to build a larger home with enough space to house their contemporary art collection.

The 25,000-square-foot house has eight bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a bowling alley, an indoor pool, a movie theater, two elevators, a five-car garage and a recording studio. The two properties total 5.4 acres.

Simmons not suspect, despite search

Los Angeles police say a task force investigating Internet crimes against children served a search warrant at the home of Kiss rocker Gene Simmons, but neither Simmons nor anyone in his family is suspected in the case.

Lt. John Jenal said the warrant was served Thursday at the Simmons home in Benedict Canyon near Beverly Hills.

Jenal said the detectives involved want to emphasize that Simmons and his family were “extremely cooperative” and none of them is suspected of a crime.

The 65-year-old Simmons has been a central member of Kiss since the early 1970s. His family was the subject of a reality TV series that aired for several years.
