BUOB, Norman Victor Norman Victor Buob went to be with his Savior on August 15, 2015 in Cheney, Washington.

Norman was born January 13, 1931 in Spokane, Washington to Christian and Esther (Klein) Buob and graduated from Edwall High School in the class of 1949.

Except for a short time serving in the Army Signal Core during the last few years of the Korean Conflict and a brief stay at the Cheney Care Center this year, Norman lived his entire life on a farm(s) in between the Sprague and Edwall communities.

Norman started farming his senior year of high school taking over the farm for his mother.

His father, Christian, had passed away a few years earlier in 1944.

Norman thoroughly loved farming and did so full-time for 54 years until he semi-retired in 1993 turning the farming responsi-bilities over to his son Dan.

It was in 1954 that Norman met the love of his life, Walene Hockett after a church youth meeting in Spokane.

They married on August 27, 1955 right after the harvest was in for the year.

During their dating, Norman and Walene would often sing together with Walene playing the piano or Norman playing his trombone and Walene accompanying.

They felt it a privilege from God to be able to farm together for so many wonderful years raising two boys, Daniel Christian Buob and David Alan Buob on the farm and being able to sing together for many church and community functions.

They were privileged again to celebrate their “50th Wedding Anniversary” in 2005 making that milestone three years before Walene’s passing in 2008.

Norman served on the Sprague School Board for a time, won “Conservation Farmer of the Year” in 1971-72 and was active together with Walene at the Sprague Community Church.

Norman was predeceased by his wife Walene; his son Daniel; and his sister Geraldine (Buob) Shreve.

He is survived by his son David and wife Melissa; his daughter-in-law Chris Buob; and five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Osorio, Jessica Pettit, Melody Pettit, John Buob, Josh Buob, Justin Nowell and Nicole (David) Winningham, and one great-grandson, Wyatt Osorio and one great-grandson yet to be born in October, Zane Winningham; and also many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 24.

Burial will be at Maccabe cemetery in Sprague at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 30, followed by a Luncheon at 12:00 and a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at Sprague Community Church.
