Fox News chairman: Trump owes apology

The chairman of Fox News Channel says Donald Trump owes the network’s Megyn Kelly an apology for an unprovoked Twitter attack that he called “as unacceptable as it is disturbing.”

The Republican presidential front-runner welcomed Kelly back from a vacation Monday night by tweeting that he liked her show better when she was away. He said Kelly “must have had a terrible vacation” because “she’s really off her game.” He also retweeted a message that referred to Kelly as a bimbo.

Fox News chief Roger Ailes said Tuesday that Kelly “represents the very best of American journalism.”

Trump has been attacking Kelly ever since her tough questioning of him during the first GOP presidential debate. It was seen by 24 million people on Fox on Aug. 6.

Prosecutors consider Jenner charges

Prosecutors on Tuesday began reviewing evidence and considering whether charges should be filed against Caitlyn Jenner in a traffic collision that killed a woman on a coastal California highway.

The case was being examined by the Los Angeles County district attorney’s major crimes division, said Greg Risling, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office.

There was no timetable for when prosecutors will decide whether to file charges, he said.

Authorities said Jenner was driving a sport utility vehicle on Feb. 7 when it slammed into two cars on Pacific Coast Highway, pushing a Lexus driven by Kim Howe into oncoming traffic. Howe, 69, died from her injuries, and her stepchildren are suing Jenner, an Olympic gold medalist.

Sheriff’s investigators determined that Jenner, 65, was traveling at an unsafe speed for the road conditions at the time and the evidence supports a vehicular manslaughter charge, the department said last week.

The crash occurred before Jenner announced she is transgender and transitioned into her new identity as Caitlyn.

Behar back as co-host of ‘The View’

Joy Behar is returning to “The View” as a co-host, part of an overhauled panel that also will include newcomers Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris.

ABC News said the trio will join returning moderator Whoopi Goldberg and co-hosts Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins on the daytime talk show.

Behar, a “View” co-host from the show’s first season to its 16th, said she’s happy to be back home and ready to tackle “the hot topics.”

She said that includes presidential candidates Hillary Rodham Clinton and Donald Trump.
