Obituary: Veltri, Elnora Elizabeth (Keyser)

Age 98

VELTRI, Elnora Elizabeth (Keyser) (Age 98) A Lifetime resident of Priest River, Idaho passed away Friday, August 21st.

Elnora was born March 19, 1917 to John and Louise (Naccarato) Keyser.

Elnora was the granddaughter of Henry and Elizabeth Keyser, who were the first settlers of Priest River.

Elnora attended elementary school at the Settlement school and then in Priest River, graduating from Priest River High School in 1934.

She loved music and was an excellent piano player, learning to play when she was a young girl.

Elnora’s piano is now on display at the Priest River Museum “The Keyser House” located in downtown Priest River.

This was her family’s original home built in 1895, and donated to the community.

Elnora married Joe Veltri on November 10, 1937, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Priest River.

She lost the love of her life, Joe, on May 22, 2009, at the age of 95.

Together they raised five children.

Elnora was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an excellent cook, preparing many meals utilizing the abundant garden vegetables Joe would raise every summer.

The two were very devoted members of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church throughout their lives.

Elnora was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe; her parents, and brothers, Robert, John, and Elmer Keyser; their son-in-law Lloyd Falk; daughter-in-law Teresa Veltri and grandson Jay Veltri.

She is survived by her five children: Karen Falk, Richard (Aggi) Veltri, Patricia (Jim) Parkins, John Veltri, and Dennis (Pam) Veltri, 13 Grandchildren, and 20 Great-Grandchildren.

The Funeral mass will be held on Saturday August 29th, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Priest River beginning at 11:00 A.M. with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River.

A viewing will be available on Friday, August 28th at the funeral home in Newport from 12:00 to 5:00 P.M. A special Thank you to all the staff who assisted Elnora during her years at River Mountain Assisted Living, long term care, and to the wonderful people at Hospice of Spokane.

Memorial contributions should be made to St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Priest River or Hospice of Spokane.
