Obituary: Nelson, Sharon S.

Age 86

NELSON, Sharon S. December 8, 1928 - August 24, 2015 Sharon passed away August 24th in Spokane.

She was born to Martin and Mary Sletager in 1928 in Sandpoint, Idaho where she grew up and graduated from high school.

Sandpoint always remained a special place for her.

She loved “going to the lake” - Pend Oreille - and enjoyed shared reminiscences and laughs at reunions and get-togethers with old friends and family.

After high school she moved to Spokane, marrying Marshall Nelson and raising a family of three daughters, Connie, Gale and Chris.

Sharon worked at Peerless Dentists and later as a tax consultant and manager with H&R Block.

She liked getting to meet with the variety of people - each with a different story to tell - that this job afforded, and she kept up with friends from work, sharing monthly “Block” lunches with them after she retired.

Through the years she and Marshall enjoyed participating in many activities, from fishing and sports car rallying to duplicate bridge and travels to Europe.

Sharon really did “seize the day.”

She was grateful for having had an interesting and a good life and lots of fun too.

Sharon was really one of the good people: a good wife, mother, grandmother, friend and boss.

She was a sunny, warm and wise soul whose existence made our world a better place.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Chris, her twin sister Pat, and brothers, Dude and Duffy.

In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral.
