Obituary: Bascetta, Joseph Paul, Jr.
Age 94
He was the son of Joseph Bascetta and Congetta Bordonaro Bascetta.
His siblings included Mary, Rookey, Peter, Alberta, Josephine, Mike, and Nellie Bascetta.
Joe helped develop the Spokane Valley with his land development and construction company.
He was a small businessman with a big heart, active in community events, who loved horses and breeding.
His prized horse was named “Cup-O-Merc”.
Joe was a member of the Spokane Valley Sheriff Posse and proud of it.
He loved the Lord Jesus and served as a “greeter” at the Valley Assembly Church at 15618 E. Broadway.
Joe is survived by his wife, Ruth Marie Bascetta of Spokane Valley and children Marlene Bascetta of Sun City, AZ, Marie Larson of Spokane, Lyndia K. Stevens of Spokane Valley, Penny Braton of St. Maries, ID, Joseph Bascetta III, and James and Marcia Bascetta of Spokane, along with stepsons Duane L. and Bonita Herman of Coulee Dam, WA, Michael E. and Jennifer Herman of Hamilton, MT, and Timothy L. and Cathy Herman of Otis Orchards, WA.
Also included are 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service is Thursday, September 3, 2015, 2:00pm at Valley Assembly Church, 15618 E. Broadway, Spokane Valley, WA.
Burial follows at Pines Cemetery.
A visitation precedes the service, beginning at 12:30pm at the church.
