Obituary: Kiel, Leza

Age 60

KIEL, Leza (Age 60) Leza Kiel, born April 8, 1955, passed away peace- fully in her home on the early morning of August 12, 2015.

She was surrounded by her loving husband and two daughters.

Leza was an Artist, and free spirit who loved to host garden tea parties.

Leza always loved the holidays.

She was a social butterfly who touched many hearts deeply and will live on through the memories of her smile, laugh and comforting wisdom.

Leza was born in Missoula, Montana and moved to Spokane when she was ten.

She attended North Central High School, SFCC, and EWU, where she studied art.

She met her lifelong and best friend, Vicki Glynn when they were young 12 year old girls.

They shared many fun, exciting and life changing experiences.

Leza met her husband John in January of 1988 in Spokane, WA.

It’s difficult to ever imagine John or Leza without the other; they shared the most precious of gifts that life can offer and that union of two hearts can never be broken, even in death.

Leza was an avid lover of music and every summer she attended the Rockcut Blues festival with her husband John.

She was a collector and an artist and there are many treasures she leaves on this earth that her family and friends can hold dear to let her free spirit live on.

Leza is preceded by her parents Kenneth and Elaine (Andersen) and brother Ken.

She is survived by her husband, John Bettinger, her daughters, Alyson Nakoa 34 (William) and Kate Bettinger 24, her grandson, Judah Nakoa 3, and her sister Lynda Parry (Bob).
