Obituary: Stevens, Sara Electa
Age 84
She was born March 2, 1931 in Spokane to Curtis and Marian Marten and lived most of her life in Spokane.
Sara loved being a mother and homemaker.
When her children were young she worked at Franklin Elementary as a teacher’s aide.
Later she worked as an Avon representative and especially enjoyed working as a church secretary.
She was active in her church, serving as a youth group leader, a Sunday school teacher and a prayer chain chairman at Liberty Park United Methodist Church where she was a life member.
Her special ministry was prayer.
Sara was an avid reader of her bible and loved historical fiction and mysteries.
She was a fun-loving person with many dear friends and had a special capacity for kindness and tolerance.
In 2013 she moved to Arizona to be near her daughter.
Sara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law William and Monette Stevens and a daughter Sherry Morton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard “Dale” Stevens; sisters Catherine Fried and Marjorie Jones.
Graveside Service 1:00PM Saturday September 5, 2015 at Riverside Memorial Park followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00PM at Heritage Funeral Chapel.
