Spokane adds rookie wide receiver Alex Wheat Jr.

Spokane’s Indoor Football League team signed rookie wide receiver Alex Wheat Jr. to its 2016 roster, the team announced Tuesday.

Wheat (6-foot-5, 220 pounds) finished his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina, where he had 17 receptions for 170 yards.

Wheat played his sophomore and junior seasons at Utah State.

Wheat, of Alpharetta, Georgia, earned second-team, All-Southern Conference honors as a freshman after finishing with 47 receptions for 854 yards and 11 touchdowns at Palomar (California) Junior College.
