Associated Press

FARGO, N.D. – Four-time defending FCS champion North Dakota State returned two of its four interceptions for touchdowns and tacked on a 100-yard kickoff return for a score in a 37-6 FCS playoff victory over Montana on Saturday.

The Bison (10-2) intercepted three passes in the first half, including a 30-yard touchdown return by Jalen Allison to make it 14-0. CJ Smith scored on a 32-yard interception return to give NDSU a 37-6 advantage early in the four quarter.

Montana (8-5) had scored 135 points in its previous three games, after quarterback Brady Gustafson returned from injury. Gustafson was held to 48 yards passing in the first half.

The Grizzlies scored on a 75-yard drive to pull within 24-6 early in the second half. NDSU’s Bruce Anderson returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown.

Montana beat the Bison 38-35 in the season opener in August in Missoula.
