Track and field: Eastern’s Rebecca Tarbert, Aaron Pullin earn Big Sky awards

Eastern Washington sophomore Rebecca Tarbert and freshman Aaron Pullin were named Big Sky Conference track and field athletes of the week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Tarbert won the 55-meter dash in 6.99 seconds at last Saturday’s Candy Cane VIII hosted by EWU. The time ranks third in school history and seventh in conference history.

Pullin scored 4,965 points to win the heptathlon in his first meet with the Eagles. The mark ranks second in school history.

Both athletes qualified for the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships.
