Body found in Grant County

A body found in Long Lake in Grant County Saturday is believed to be that of a fisherman who was last seen on Nov. 2.

Connell resident Khampheng Soumphakdy, 65, was reported missing on Nov. 3 when he did not return home from a fishing trip, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. His small boat was found floating on Long Lake and his truck was parked at the lake, but Soumphakdy could not be located at the time.

The body of a man believed to be Soumphakdy was found floating in the lake Saturday morning. An autopsy will be conducted, but it appears that Soumphakdy drowned after falling out of his boat, the Sheriff’s Office said.
