Organizers announce Team Challenge Cup purse

The organizers of the upcoming Team Challenge Cup skating competition announced Tuesday that the overall purse of the event will be $617,000.

The international skating competition, scheduled to take place April 22-24 at the Spokane Arena, will feature 42 of the top-ranked men and women skaters from around the world.

The teams will be broken down into those from North America, Europe and Asia.

Invitations for those skaters who qualify, based on International Skating Union world standings, are expected to go out next week.
