Hypocritical on Quintrall

I find the Jan. 25 story on Jan Quintrall typical “gotcha journalism.” The Spokane City Council, savior of the budget, ethical spending, moral values and protecting the downtrodden, is a joke.

Isn’t this the same group that wants to spend $103,000 to hire its own attorney instead of using the city attorney because of some perceived conflict of interest? That really makes no sense at all. Can they point to any decisions made during the last five years where the city attorney gave them bad advice? I don’t think so.

Instead of grousing about the $750 spent by Quintrall, they should be looking at their own budget, which has steadily gone up since Ben Stuckart became council president, with no obvious benefit to the taxpayers.
