Obituary: Mckenna, Kevin Jerome

McKENNA, Kevin Jerome May 27, 1979 - January 14, 2015 Kevin Jerome McKenna, 35, died Wednesday, January 14,, 2015 at Holy Family Hospital with his family at his side.

He died of complications from pneumonia.

Kevin was born May 27, 1979 in Guatemala City, Guatemala and adopted by Jack and Marilyn McKenna.

Kevin was a strong leader in his youth, receiving the Chase Youth Award during high school.

He graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School in 1998.

Kevin later went on to graduate from Gonzaga University in 2004 with a degree in Broadcasting.

He also earned a degree in Visual Communications from ITT Technical Institute in 2012.

He was known for his boundless energy and willingness to try any job.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoyed volunteering at INBC and Toys for Tots.

His willingness to give of his time and talent was appreciated by those he helped.

Kevin is survived by his siblings, Mike Kim (Weon Jeong), John (Molly), Kathleen (Jim) Wilson, Michael (Kim), Archie (Michelle), Patrick (Denise), Mary (Kasey) Kramer, Cathy Tracy, David (April), Michael (Edie) Johnson and Kristine (Brett) Allbery.

He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marilyn and John J.

“Jack” McKenna, and his grandparents, Harold “Shine” and Blanche McKenna, and John and Rachel Walsh.

The funeral will be Saturday, February 7th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Three Companions on the campus of Gonzaga Preparatory School.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gonzaga Prep, INBC or Toys for Tots.
