Suspicious car parked in lot to use free Wi-Fi

Tire trouble and loitering Wi-Fi users were among the calls received by the Liberty Lake Police Department the week of Jan. 26 to Feb. 2.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of North Liberty Lake Road at 8 a.m. Jan. 29. The caller said the car with two people inside had been there since 4 a.m. and were using the business’ free Wi-Fi, said police Chief Brian Asmus.

A police officer responded and asked the two to move on.

A damaged tire in the 19000 block of East Maxwell prompted a woman to call police and say she thought her ex-boyfriend had slit the tire with a knife. An officer examined the tire and determined the damage was not due to a knife, Asmus said. The conclusion was confirmed by a local tire shop.
