Girls basketball: Gonzaga Prep wraps up perfect regular season

Perfect.

For Gonzaga Prep, it has a nice ring.

The Bullpups used a 31-9 start to cruise to a 66-37 win over the visiting Ferris Saxons on Thursday as the Greater Spokane League concluded regular-season play.

G-Prep, which improved to 2-0 overall and 18-0 in league, ran its winning streak to 43.

Oona Harrington led the Bullpups with 17 points and five rebounds. Laura Stockton had seven assists.

G-Prep outscored Ferris 21-10 in the third quarter.

Bria Bowton led the Saxons (8-12, 8-1) with eight points.

North Central 46, Rogers 41: The host Indians (2-18, 2-16), who clinched the third and final seed to the District 8 3A tournament, rallied from a 25-16 halftime deficit, outscoring the Pirates (1-19, 0-18) 30-16 the final two quarters. Megan Dean led NC with 20 points. Makala Peterson paced Rogers with 13.

University 64, Shadle Park 39: The Titans (12-8, 11-7) zipped to a 40-19 lead at Shadle (5-15, 5-13). Kaitlin Pannell led the Titans with 16 points and Brooke Bailey added 10. Shyla Carr led the Highlanders with 18.

Central Valley 53, Mead 40: The Bears (17-3, 15-3) avenged an earlier loss against the visiting Panthers (13-7, 12-6). Lexie Hull had 16 points and her twin sister, Lacie, added 15, nine rebounds and five assists while Madison Hovren had 16 rebounds. Coreen Labish led Mead with 14 points.

Lewis and Clark 66, Mt. Spokane 26: Riley Lupfer had 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists to lead the Tigers (15-5, 14-4) past the visiting Wildcats (7-13, 5-13). Imani Guilloory had 10 points and seven rebounds for Lewis and Clark.

Northeast A

Newport 32, Deer Park 28: Hadley Stratton scored 13 points and the visiting Grizzlies (4-14, 3-9) used a 16-8 fourth quarter to rally for the win.

Newport was 9 for 14 from the free-throw line in the final quarter.

Damaris Guske led the Stags (0-19, 0-13) with eight points.
