Obituary: Shay, Laura Joyce Allen

Age 79

SHAY, Laura Joyce Allen We lovingly celebrate the life of Laura “Joyce” Allen Shay who peacefully left this life to be reunited with her eternal companion, Melvin on February 3, 2015 in Spokane, Washington.

Joyce was on born April 4, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was a woman of service and was a faithful, devoted member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the primary for many years.

She loved serving in the nursery and loved the children.

She had a very happy disposition and was the happiest with a baby in her arms.

She loved to sew and create blankets for those babies.

She was a devoted wife and mother and her life centered around her loved ones.

Her great grandchildren loved to call her “GG”.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Melvin Richard Shay, father LaGrand Allen and mother Blanche Heugly Allen, and sister Marlene.

Joyce is survived by daughters, Dora (Steve) Lebo, LaRene (Clark) Jensen, Laura (Mario) Ramos; sons, Allen Richard “Buddy” Shay and Jared Percival (Laura) Shay.

Twenty-five grandchildren and fifty-eight great-grandchildren with four more great-grandchildren on the way.

Saturday, February 7, the viewing will begin at noon with services following at 1:00 p.m. at the Spokane Stake Center, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1620 E. 29th.

Avenue.

Dedication of the grave will be held following the service at Riverside Memorial Park, 508 N. Government Way.

Services are under the direction of Ball & Dodd Funeral Home.
