Girls basketball: Kamille Langford’s hot shooting sparks Reardan rally

Kamille Langford scored 12 of her team-high 16 points in the second half and Reardan erased a 12-point first-quarter deficit and beat Davenport in a District 7 2B game Tuesday in Reardan.

The win gave the Indians (16-7) a berth to the regional tournament. Reardan will play Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Thursday in Reardan to determine the third and fourth seeds.

The Gorillas (13-10), which got a game-high 17 points from Meika Heath, will play St. George’s Thursday in Reardan for the fifth and final seed to regionals.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 48, St. George’s 42: Jenna Bennett scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds and the Broncos (16-7) pulled away after halftime and beat the Dragons (13-10) in Reardan. St. George’s Hailey Higashi tallied a team-high 13 points.

District 7 1B

Wellpinit 57, Cusick 47: Andreya Colvin scored 14 points, Jovahni Andrews added 10 and the Redskins (15-6) topped the Panthers (7-11) in a first-round game in Wellpinit. Kaylee Kieffer added nine points for Wellpinit. The Redskins will play Republic in the second round Saturday in Deer Park with a regional-tournament berth on the line. Cusick will play Valley Christian in a loser-out game on Saturday, also in Deer Park.

Republic 58, Valley Christian 18: Shania Graham had 20 points, 10 steals and eight rebounds and the Tigers (21-0) eased past the Panthers (3-17) in Republic. The Tigers’ Lily Beckwith added 10 points and Demi Jo Vaughn totaled eight points and seven rebounds.

Odessa-Harrington 52, Curlew 31: Shelbey Watkins scored 13 points and the Titans (10-11) opened the game on an 18-5 run and eased past the Cougars (12-9) in Curlew. Lanessa Simon added eight points for Odessa-Harrington, which will play Almira/Coulee-Hartline in the second round Saturday in Deer Park. Kayleona Fanning tallied a team-high 13 points for Curlew, which will play Selkirk Saturday in Deer Park in a loser-out game.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 51, Selkirk 14: Reinnee Rockett scored 16 points and Brenna Oliver added 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Warriors (16-4) overwhelmed the visiting Rangers (9-13). Katie Emerson added 13 points for ACH.

Northeast A

Deer Park 37, Freeman 32: Damaris Guske scored 14 points, Jael Guske added 10 and the Stags (1-19, 1-13) held off the Scotties’ (5-15, 5-9) late charge and claimed their first victory in a regular-season finale in Freeman. The Scotties’ cut into Deer Park’s 12-point halftime lead with a 10-3 third-quarter run, but the Stags regrouped and closed it out. Freeman’s Isabelle Miller made 11 of 12 free throws and scored a team-high 13 points.

Medical Lake 46, Riverside 42: Bradyn Wegner hit a free throw with 11 seconds left to put the Cardinals (7-13, 6-8) on top for good in a win over the visiting Rams (7-12, 6-8). Medical Lake’s Cassidy Hagel tallied a game-high 23 points, including a crucial 3-pointer in the final minute. Riverside’s Julianna Trepanier tallied a team-high 14 points.

Lakeside 50, Colville 18: Kelsey Jones scored 11 points, Lindy Jacobson had 10 and Sienna Swannack added nine as the Eagles (19-1, 14-0) overwhelmed the host Indians (11-9, 10-4). Colville’s Megan Lee tallied a team-high eight points.

Chewelah 47, Newport 36: The Cougars (12-8, 11-3) used a 16-3 run midway through the first half to beat the host Grizzlies (4-16, 3-11). Maggie Cobb led Chewelah with 17 points. Newport’s Lauren Vaughn tallied a team-best eight points. The win gave Chewelah the second seed to the district tournament.
