Ski worlds wrap with men’s slalom

The last race of the two-week world ski championships in Beaver Creek, Colorado, is the men’s slalom today ( 1:30 p.m., NBC). The last man to win giant slalom and slalom title at the same world championships was Alberto Tomba in 1996. American Ted Ligety could match that after winning the giant slalom on Friday. However, Ligety is not considered to be among the favorites. The favorites are the 2013 medalists – Marchel Hirscher of Austria, Felix Neureuther of Germany and Mario Matt of Austria. Hirscher has already won gold at these worlds in Alpine combined and in the team event. – Associated Press
