Lia Galdeira scored 23 points on and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Washington State to a 61-52 win over Utah in Salt Lake City on Sunday, giving coach June Daugherty her 400th career win.

Daugherty is 400-371 in her 26th season, the first seven at Boise State followed by 11 at Washington.

“It was fun to get a win like this today,” Daugherty said. “Every player contributed, we buckled down on defense and shared the basketball on the offensive end. I am very fortunate to have been blessed to have great players, great coaching staffs and unbelievable support throughout the years. Today was a big win for us to get back on track.”

Tia Presley scored all 12 of her points in the second half for Washington State (14-11, 5-9 Pac-12), which trailed by as many as eight points early in the first half.

Leading by two at the break, the Cougars broke it open early in the second half with an 11-2 run capped by Presley’s bucket to make it 37-28 with 13:43 left. Utah cut the gap to 55-50 at 3:29 after a 9-2 burst but WSUclinched it by scoring six of the game’s final eight points.
