No qualifications needed

It is very gratifying to read recent Spokesman-Review discussions of Spokane City Council matters. It is apparent that we are very fortunate to live in a city in which the governing body has adopted very broad equal opportunity rules, allowing for members with major intellectual and judgmental deficits to serve, and even sit on committees when others might feel their impairments should preclude inclusion.

By permitting such broad acceptability, we should be proud that even those with no qualifications whatsoever might be able to serve our community, for better or worse.
