A means of expression: Satori Butler, president of Eastern Washington University’s Black Student Union, models a modern box braid during a presentation called “Black is Beautiful: Afrocentric Hair and Fashion” on Tuesday at the school in Cheney. During the event, Rachel Dolezal, an Africana Studies Program professor, discussed the power of cultural and social expression through hair, and the historical evolution and oppression of Afrocentric hair.
