Rich steer city’s future
Jan Quintrall, a political appointee, was placed in charge of about 240 people in the city’s Engineering Services, Permits and Planning departments. She had no engineering degree or engineering background. This is a tough position to be placed in, especially for someone with no experience.
The reason she was appointed was because she was a good friend of the mayor while at the Spokane Club. And, after all, the future of Spokane is planned out by the rich and powerful at the Spokane Club.
The peasants don’t have a clue about the future of Spokane because they are too busy trying to eke out an existence. Let them eat cake.
Thank God for Doug Clark, Spokane’s answer to Jon Stewart, because he isn’t afraid to poke fun at the rich and powerful. They need it.
