Politics trumps economics

After reading the Feb. 15 article “Raising the pay grade,” a novel idea developed.

A boost in the local economy would be easily achieved by hiring more city employees because of their higher disposable incomes. Raising minimum wages would result in job losses and more businesses relocating in Idaho.

Remember governments are not buffeted by free market forces. Also, politics always trumps economics.
