Obituary: Cannon, Juanita

Age 98

CANNON, Juanita Juanita was born February 1, 1917, at Blueslide, Washington, to Albert and Essie Nelson and peacefully passed way February 16, 2015.

She grew up in Usk, WA, graduating from Cusick High School.

She married Richard “Dick” Cannon on September 5, 1936.

Except for living in Superior, Montana, for six years, Dick and Juanita lived in Spokane for the majority of their 58 years together and raised two sons, Dennis and Richard.

The family built two decades of wonderful memories at their Diamond Lake cabin.

Juanita was a devoted wife, mother and amazing homemaker and cook.

Her family fondly remembers her sourdough pancakes as well as her fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and pies.

Lots of pies!

She loved to bowl, square dance, knit, pick huckleberries, and raise beautiful flowers.

Juanita worked as a playground and lunchroom aide at Sheridan Elementary and enjoyed interacting with the children.

She was also an active member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and is survived by Dennis and Lynn Cannon, Richard and Peggy Cannon, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great- grandsons.

Her family will miss her greatly.

Special thanks go to the Staff of Brighton Court Assisted Living Community in the Spokane Valley for the constant loving care and kindness shown our mother for many years.

Graveside services will be held at the Newport Cemetery on Monday, March 2, at 2:00 pm.
