Obituary: Yoke, Stephen Francis
Age 58
Stephen was born in Spokane, WA on October 12, 1956 to Charles and Gwendolyn Yoke.
He had countless fond memories of his childhood in Deer Park.
While attending Deer Park High School he participated in several activities including Debate Team, Choir, Football, Ski Club, FFA and was chosen as ASB president in his senior year.
After graduating high school, he worked in the family grocery business and started a family with the love of his life, Kay (Thompson) Yoke.
Playing the guitar, singing, writing poetry and learning the German language were Stephen’s favorite pastimes in his adult life.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Gwendolyn Yoke; his daughters, Stephanie (Mike) Steinman, Julia Yoke (Troy Gilcrist) and Melissa (Jon) Pemberton; siblings, Marcia (Brent) Harken, Thomas (Lorenda) Yoke, Lori (Bob) House, Mitchell (Cheryl) Yoke and Kristin (Geoff) Markiton; his grandchildren, Haley, Caleb, Paige, Tala, Kayanna, Julian and Evie who were the light of his life and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes out to the many caregivers, nurses and doctors who dedicated their time and support to Stephen’s well being over the years.
Special thanks to Autumn Years Adult Family Home and Horizon Hospice for the outstanding care they provided.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 27, at South Hill Bible Church, 958 E. 29th Ave., Spokane, WA 99203.
A reception will follow at the church.
