Kyle Busch has surgery on foot performed by North Carolina specialist

Kyle Busch has undergone surgery on his left foot, broken in a hard crash at Daytona International Speedway. Dr. Robert Anderson of OrthoCarolina performed the surgery Wednesday. Busch broke his right leg and left foot Saturday in the Xfinity Series race when he crashed into a concrete wall at Daytona Beach, Florida. He missed the season-opening Daytona 500 and is out indefinitely. He was transferred Tuesday from Daytona to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he’s undergoing further treatment. Joe Gibbs Racing said the surgery on his foot was a success, and Busch will remain hospitalized for observation. – Associated Press
