1: David Raitt and The Baja Boogie Band

This six-piece band with roots in Baja California and the Pacific Northwest plays “obscure and original rhythm and blues.” A Dec. 27 show in Sandpoint sold out, so the band is coming back for more.

2: Gonzaga Women’s Basketball

3: ‘The Breakfast Club’

Arguably the late John Hughes’ best movie, 1985’s “The Breakfast Club” centers on five high school kids – a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal – who spend a day in detention together. Screened as part of the Garland Theater’s Totally Tubular Tuesday film series.

4: Spokane Chiefs Hockey

6: Journey to the North Pole Cruise

Final weekend to visit Santa’s workshop on Lake Coeur d’Alene. The 40-minute cruise departs from the North Pole Cruise Terminal at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday.

7: Social Dance Introduction

If your New Year’s resolution is to learn to dance, here’s your chance. In 10 weeks, you will learn the basics of waltz, foxtrot, cha cha and swing, as well as etiquette, musicality and posture, and simple steps you can use to start dancing right away if you have never danced before. Partner not required.
