Compassionate Friends Organization – A self-help organization offering friendship, understanding and hope to bereaved families that have experienced the death of a child of any age, from any cause. Open to parents, siblings, grandparents and other bereaved family members ages 14 years and older. Meets the second Monday of the month, 6:15-7:45 p.m., at Shadle Public Library, 2111 W. “Connections” Bereavement Support For Families – Special support group led by Hospice of Spokane counselors for families with children in grades 1-12 who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Designed to help children and the adults who love them find a safe environment for the expression of feelings, recognize that they are not alone in their grief, understand that grief is a normal expression of loss, and learn about parenting a grieving child. Diabetes Education Center – Meets Mondays and Tuesdays at Holy Family Hospital, 5633 N. Lidgerwood; call (509) 232-8138 for more information.

Diabetes Support Group – The group is led by a certified diabetes educator. Meets the first Tuesday of the month, 5:30-7 p.m., INHS Community Wellness Center, 501 N. Riverpoint Blvd., second floor, Suite 245. For more information call (509) 232-8145.

Displaced Homemakers Sponsored by Community Colleges of Spokane, it is open to women in transition. Meets fall through spring; free; (509) 279-6065.
