Area roundup: Braves lose to Beaver Valley in OT

McKoy Hauck’s overtime goal gave the first-place Beaver Valley Nitehawks a 6-5 victory over Neil Murdoch Division rival Spokane on Sunday in a KIJHL game played at Fruitvale, British Columbia.

Tanner Stolz scored at 17:14 of the third period to put the Braves (19-16-0-4, 42 points) up 5-4 but the Nitehawks (24-9-1-4, 53) scored a power-play goal at 11:32 to tie it.

Kurtis Redding and Dillon Bogart each scored two goals for Spokane.

Basketball

North Idaho College’s home men’s basketball game on Sunday was canceled because of hazardous road conditions that prevented Blue Mountain CC of Pendleton, Oregon, from making the trip.
