Learn from shooting

No question it is a tragedy a young mother was killed at the Wal-Mart by her toddler. But, there are no accidental shootings. All shootings are either deliberate or unintentional: They are never accidental. Do not call this an accident and put the burden on the toddler. It is one more tragic example of the lack of gun safety.

I fully expect others to castigate and curse me for saying what must be said. All too often people simply do not think about the consequences of their actions or anticipate what could go wrong. If you carry a loaded gun, the safety should be on and the gun should be on your person at all times. It should never be left where someone else can access it.

Think about what could happen the next time you handle firearms or use your mobile phone or text while driving. Such things do happen. They are never accidents, and the consequences are all too often tragic. Please learn from these tragedies.
