The Spokane Chiefs traded the rights to 20-year-old defenseman Reid Gow to the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a fifth-round Bantam Draft selection, which Spokane can use in either 2015 or ’16.

Gow, who played 229-regular-season games for Spokane, originally chose not to play his overage year with the Chiefs because he wanted to be closer to family in Manitoba. He is enrolled at the University of Manitoba and has played 18 games with the Bisons.

The Chiefs gave the Wheat Kings permission to talk to Gow and negotiate a deal.
