ParaSport basketball players team up with Northwest Christian, St. George’s

Northwest Christian and St. George’s will hold their annual Holy Grail basketball competition on Friday. At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to donate to ParaSport Spokane, an organization that provides training and athletic opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities.

Eight ParaSport athletes will team up with students from both schools during halftime of the varsity girls game for a game of their own.

Holy Grail begins at 3 p.m. with JV boys. JV girls play at 4:30 p.m., and the boys C team plays at 5:45 p.m. Varsity girls play at 6 p.m., and varsity boys play at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s event is hosted at Northwest Christian, 5104 E. Bernhill Road, Colbert. Call Aaron Spuler at (509) 238-4005 for more information.

CVSD aims to answer questions at bond and levy open houses

The Central Valley School District will host three bond and levy open houses. Community members with questions about the construction bond, which will complete six school renovation and expansion projects and build a new elementary school, and the three-year replacement levy, which will renew the district’s current levy, are invited to attend.

Open houses will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m.:

• Tuesday at Evergreen Middle School, 14221 E. 16th Ave.

• Wednesday at Opportunity Elementary School, 1109 S. Wilbur Road.

Elementary, middle school slated to perform in choirs

Several schools will hold choir concerts in the coming week.

Mead School District will hold its districtwide elementary choir concert today at 6:30 p.m. at Mead High School, 302 W. Hastings Road.

Roosevelt Elementary School will hold two winter chorus concerts, one Saturday and one on Monday. Both concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. Roosevelt Elementary is at 333 W. 14th Ave.

Sacajawea Middle School will hold a choir concert on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The middle school is at 401 E. 33rd Ave.
