Big Sky hoops: Idaho State rallies to beat Montana State

Chris Hansen scored 26 points, including 12 of Idaho State’s final 16, and the Bengals beat the Bobcats 70-61 on Thursday night in Pocatello.

Montana State led 56-54 when Hansen scored the first eight points in a game-ending 16-5 run.

The Bobcats had built a 19-point lead with 8:13 left in the first half with the help of seven 3-pointers, three each by Michael Dison and Danny Robison. Dison finished with 17 points and Robison 13, but they combined for only six points in the second half when the Bobcats shot 25 percent. Stephan Holm added 14 points.

Weber State 68, Montana 60 Joel Bolomboy had 16 points with nine rebounds as the Wildcats defeated the Grizzlies in Ogden, Utah, to earn its first Big Sky win of the season.

Jeremy Senglin chipped in 16 points with five assists and Ryan Richardson had 10 points for the Wildcats, who rebounded from conference-opening losses to EWU and Idaho. Weber State shot 53.3 percent from the field.

Northern Colorado 90, Portland State 85 Cameron Michael scored a career-high 22 points, Tevin Svihovec and Jordan Wilson scored 16 apiece, and the Bears held off the Vikings in Greeley, Colorado.

Dominique Lee had 12 and Corey Spence 10 for the Bears, who outscored the Vikings in the paint 36-28 and scored 22 points off of 14 turnovers.

Sacramento State 63, North Dakota 61 Zach Mills scored 17 points and Mikh McKinney added 13, including a short bank shot with 1 second left to lift the Hornets to a win over North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Alex Tiffin added 12 points and Dylan Garrity 10 for the Hornets, who matched their best start since joining the league in 1996.
