WSU cancels pharmacy classes after receiving threat

Evening update: WSU said Friday evening that the social media threat was investigated and it was determined there was no “imminent threat.” Classes will resume Tuesday after the Martin Luther King Day holiday as scheduled.

UPDATE: WSU Spokane says the campus emergency has ended but classes at the College of Pharmacy are still cancelled for the day.

Original story WSU Spokane has cancelled classes at its College of Pharmacy after receiving an unspecified threat this morning. Police spokeswoman Monique Cotton said police received report of a threat on campus around 9:30 a.m. and that officers are on scene investigating. The university sent out a text alert to students this morning which said only authorized personnel are allowed in the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences building. “The university is communicating with law enforcement and following security protocol,” the alert said.
