S-R encourages lawlessness

It amazes me that a newspaper would actually encourage lawlessness. When the news talks about “immigrants” in the context of the recent “sanctuary city” ordinance, they are conflating legal immigrants who have passed background checks, have skills that this country needs and passed health checks, etc., with illegal trespassers. The two are not the same.

The police departments are stretched thin. The police only have time for seat-belt violations that send money to the government coffers, unlike crime investigation. Crime rates in Spokane are higher than the rest of the state and higher than the national average.

Why would The Spokesman-Review choose to side with criminals who have broken our laws being here and increase crime? The newspaper is actively encouraging human trafficking of people to our city with sanctuary city laws.

Can the illegal aliens legally have a job? No, so they need taxpayer-funded programs. How many of the car thefts are a result of illegal aliens? Murder? Welfare fraud? Identity theft? Robbery? Drug dealing? Why do we encourage people to come here and give safe haven for all of the above? It costs us all in crime, safety, social services and health care costs.
