Obituary: Bankey, Herbert John
Age 61
He was born November 23, 1953 in Spokane to Herbert William and Barbara Bankey.
He was a lifelong resident of Spokane.
John graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and Eastern Washington University.
He worked for the Spokane County Public Defender’s Office for many years before taking disability retirement.
He is survived by three brothers: Sid and Mark of Spokane and Erik of Boston.
He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
He made friends easily and has many friends who know him as “John”.
He was very concerned for the welfare of animals and befriended and was “owned” by numerous cats.
He always had a friendly word and gentle political stance for anyone who asked.
