Ex-NFL player Jerramy Stevens arrested for DUI; wife Hope Solo in car

Los Angeles Times

LOS ANGELES – Jerramy Stevens – former NFL player and now husband of soccer star Hope Solo – was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in Manhattan Beach.

Police said that Solo, the goalkeeper for the U.S. national soccer team, was in the car at the time.

Stevens, 35, of Kirkland, Washington, was stopped about 1:30 a.m. by an officer who noticed the former football player was driving without his headlights on.

Stevens was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and later released and is scheduled to appear March 19 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The couple has been the subject of controversy over the past couple of years.

Solo, a two-time Olympian, was arrested on domestic violence charges last year. She had been accused of assaulting her sister and nephew.

In November 2012, Stevens, who was her fiance at the time, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting her, but he was never charged.

Stevens was drafted by Seattle in 2002 and played for the Seahawks until 2007. He went on to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2008-10.
