HAUCK, Phyllis Jean Homan (Age 86) On January 14, 2015, Phyllis Jean Homan Hauck passed away at her home.

She was born May 8, 1928 in Colorado Springs, CO.

Her family lived in Colorado, Pennsylvania, and California prior to coming to the Northwest in 1946 (Dad loved to explore).

She married Dale Vance Hauck in 1949, settling in Spirit Lake, ID where she has been living in the same home since.

She belonged to the Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church serving in several positions during those 65 years of membership.

She worked as a nurse at the Spirit Lake Hospital, where two of her children were born, and then as a clerk for the city of Spirit Lake.

She was a registered Republican and strongly believed in the right to vote, if you didn’t vote you could not complain.

Her husband Dale passed away in 1971.

In 1973 she married Lester Clark Hauck who passed in 2009.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, camping, travel, and especially loved family gatherings.

The annual elk hunting trip to central Idaho was a yearly highlight.

Phyllis was very loving and social, she kept in contact through her regular correspondence, including a Christmas card and letter mailing list that over the years grew to over 200 friends and relatives.

This was her version of Facebook.

She is survived by her baby brother Thomas Homan; children Keith Hauck, Terrie Hauck (Timothy Nersinger), Mark Hauck (Karla Graham), Shawn Hauck, Burt Hauck (Yong Ae), Wayne Hauck, and Celeste Geaudreau; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
