Obituary: Wilken, Craig Robert

Age 60

WILKEN, Craig Robert Of Sprague, WA went to rest in Heaven on January 17, 2015 surrounded by the family he loved.

He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Joy; children Heather (Leigh) Rose, Clay (Marie) Wilken and Tim Wilken all of Sprague and grandchil-dren Kaylee, Timmy, Ella, Cameron and a new grandson to arrive in March and god-children James (Liz) Walters and Jessica (Justin) Erickson; and their parents and his dear friends Ed and Linda Walters and grand-goddaughter Ashlynn.

He was born February 8, 1954 to Clay and Alice Mae Wilken of Almira, WA and lived his entire life in Lincoln County.

He worked for Lincoln County Road Department 31 years before he was injured in a snow plowing accident Christmas Day, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his dad, mom and brother Chris Wilken.

The past year Craig fought a valiant battle with cancer.

He was an active volunteer in the creation and maintenance of the Sprague Centennial Plaza, 4-H activities, and a member of the Sprague Volunteer Firefighters Assn., Sprague Gun Club, Sprague Chamber and a staunch supporter of the Sprague Ladies Softball Team.

He loved working on cars, going to car shows and tinkering on his 67 Dodge Charger.

He was quite ingenious fabricating special tools or accessories he felt he needed.

Many family and friends enjoyed horseshoe candle and napkin holders, lamps and coat racks he created.

He enjoyed time with family and friends in small get-togethers and traveling, with his favorite destination of Nashville, TN.

He was a big bear with a soft heart.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24th at 1 pm at Sprague Community Church.
