Walla Walla holds off CCS in women’s play

Paige Vincent (Colton High) scored 17 points, hitting 8 of 16 from the field, and added eight rebounds as the Walla Walla Warriors defeated the visiting Community Colleges of Spokane Sasquatch 63-57 on Wednesday for their sixth consecutive victory.

The East Region-leading Warriors (13-3, 4-0 Northwest Athletic Conference) outscored CCS 18-11 in points off turnovers. Walla Walla scored the first nine points of the second half to take a 37-22 lead.

Bianca Gonzales scored 12 points and Gese Gruber had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Sasquatch (12-8, 1-3).

CCS shot 32 percent from the floor (19 of 60), including 8 of 29 in the first half.

Men

Walla Walla 99, CC Spokane 68: The host Warriors (11-8, 3-1 NWAC) cruised past the Sasquatch (12-7, 2-2).
