Pac-12 roundup: Stanford romps past Washington

Ap

Anthony Brown scored 23 points and Stanford took advantage of Washington’s depleted inside game for an 84-74 victory Wednesday night in Seattle.

It was Washington’s first game since dismissing 7-foot center Robert Upshaw for unspecified violation of team rules.

That left little inside resistance for Cardinal 7-foot center Stefan Nastic, who scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half.

Chasson Randle added 20 points and Marcus Allen had 12 for Stanford.

Nigel Williams-Goss had 17 points to lead Washington. Mike Anderson had 16 points and Quevyn Winters added 13.

Stanford led 36-24 at intermission and Washington drew no closer until pulling within 10 in the final minute. The Huskies trailed by as many as 26 points in the second half.

(6) Arizona 90, Oregon 56: Gabe York scored 16 points, Brandon Ashley added 13 and the Wildcats put on an offensive show to dismantle the Ducks in Tucson, Arizona.

After routing Oregon earlier this season behind its defense, Arizona (19-2, 7-1 Pac-12) ran away from the Ducks a second time with one of its best offensive performances of the season.

The Wildcats had their way with Oregon inside and out, shooting 59 percent while outscoring the Ducks 44-18 in the paint.

Elgin Cook had 16 points and Joseph Young added 12 for Oregon.

Arizona State 73, Oregon State 55: Shaquielle McKissic scored 17 points and the Sun Devils made eight first-half 3-pointers in a win over the Beavers in Tempe, Arizona.

Gary Payton II had 23 points to lead the Beavers, who had won three straight and came into the game with the Pac-12’s top-ranked 3-point defense.

Arizona State used an 18-3 run early to take a 40-23 lead into the break and extended it to as many as 22 points in winning its third game in the last four. Oregon State never got closer than 15 in the second half.
