Obituary: Mcgill, Mae H.
She had been diagnosed with cancer in March.
Mae was born in Richey, MT, 8/22/1920 to Vera and Leonard Olson.
She finished her high school education in Libby, MT.
where she met Clayton Howard McGill.
They eloped to Bonners Ferry on 8/10, 1940.
Mae and Clay had two sons: Michael Clayton McGill 3/6/1945 and Steven Douglas McGill 11/30/1950.
The family lived in Libby, MT., Davenport, WA, Spokane WA., back to Libby and then moved to Orofino, ID.
in 1956 where they resided until Clay’s death in an automobile accident 8/22/1995.
Mae was an awesome wife, mom, and grandma, who also worked outside the home in restaurants in Libby, Riverside Lanes in Orofino and was manager of the Orofino Swimming Pool one summer.
She loved the water and was active in The Moon Maids Synchronized Swim Team.
Mae, her friends and family spent many hours floating down the Clearwater River.
Mae and Clay spent many summer days on Dworshak catching “silvers”.
They would can what they needed for themselves and keep fishing for more to give away.
They also delivered Meals on Wheels during their retirement.
After Clay’s death Mae, moved to Spokane to be closer to her son Mike and two sisters, Lil and Alvia.
There she was involved in Senior Centers, and the Eagles, where she enjoyed bingo and dancing.
She really enjoyed visiting and having fun with her children and grand- children and always made the BEST fudge and zucchini cookies to bring to gatherings.
When her health began to fail she moved back to Orofino in Feb. of 2014 and resided at Brookside Landing until May of 2015.
When her health dictated the need for more care, she moved to Clearwater Health and Rehab.
Mae is survived by two sons: Mike (Vickie) McGill of Spokane Valley, WA.
and Steve (Joellen) McGill of Orofino.
Four grandchildren: Michael P. (Julie) McGill of Lewiston ID, Matthew T. (Kelli) McGill of University Place, WA, Lisa (Ryan) Bradetich of Pullman, WA and Ryan (Lynae) McGill of Boise, ID.
Nine great-grandchildren: Tanner (Camille) McGill, Alyssa McGill, Ellie McGill and Cody McGill, Tori McGill, and Allyson Bradetich, Ian Bradetich and Joceyln McGill, Gavin McGill.
Two sisters: Lil Kusmic of Kalispell, MT and Hazel (John) Kamphe of Troy, MT.
Also Mae will be missed by sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends who all loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by husband, Clay McGill, parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff at Broadway Court Estates in Spokane, Brookside Landing, Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clearwater Health and Rehab of Orofino Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino, ID at 1:00 PM 7/18/2015.
