In brief: Nonprofits can apply for funds

SPOKANE VALLEY – Nonprofit organizations that provide economic development activities and social services benefiting Spokane Valley residents are invited to apply for funding from the city.

Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. July 24. Guidelines can be found on the city’s website, www.spokanevalley.org, or at City Hall, 11707 E. Sprague Ave., Suite 106.

Hot dog, tee sale pulls in $2,500

NEWMAN LAKE – The Hot Dog and T-Shirt Sale raised more than $2,500 for Newman Lake Fire and Rescue on July 4.

The event was sponsored by the Fire Auxiliary and Newman Lake SCOPE.
