WSU’s Allison, Cracraft earn preseason honors

Washington State Cougars senior linebacker Jeremiah Allison and junior wide receiver River Cracraft were named to a pair of college football watch lists it was announced on Wednesday.

Allison earned a spot on the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, which is college football’s premier award for community service.

The award was named after Florida Gators quarterback Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy winner, and is presented annually by the All Sports Association in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The award is given to the FBS player that best combines exemplary communtiy service with athletic and academic achievement.

Allison, a native of Los Angeles, has assisted with Habitat for Humanity, Reading Buddies at elementary schools, Senior Buddies at a Pullman retirement home and Butch’s Holiday Bash for local children.

The Tallahassee (Florida) Quarterback Club named Cracraft to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List, given to college football’s most outstanding receiver. Cracraft also made the list last season.
