Disabled should pay for parking

The requirement for a doctor’s note for disabled parking privileges is an overdue change to the law because, as we know, this privilege is abused by many. I don’t begrudge those disabled drivers that need this privilege but am offended by those that abuse it.

My question has to do with why are the disabled allowed to park for free at parking meters? I don’t get the link between disability and being able to park at a meter without paying. I’d love to hear the logic in this law.
