Doing or just saying?

OK. It is that time of year: elections and the time when those who want to get elected and those running for re-election want us to know what they have done to gain our support.

Let me get this straight. Our current mayor has reduced crime? When was the last time he put his life on the line to catch a bad guy? Just saying.

Built trust with the citizens and the police? When was the last time he took a ride through any neighborhood in a patrol car and interacted with citizens? Again, just saying.

Reduced utility bills. Really? I thought that was the result of the hard work done by the utility folks to figure out ways to save money, and then the City Council voted to keep rates low.

Bloviating does not a great elected official make. People, please look at the real facts before you make your decision, not the dressed-up version. If you don’t have all the facts on both sides of an issue, you can’t make a knowledgeable decision. Just saying.
