Obituary: Dupree, Naida Frances

DUPREE, Naida Frances (Age 82) Naida was born October 10, 1932 in Kingston, Idaho to Thomas and Ivy Irene Hunt.

She was the fifth of five children.

She moved with her family to Coeur d’Alene where she graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1951 and attended North Idaho College.

Naida married Stanley Dupree on January 14, 1956 and moved to Fairchild AFB where Stanley was stationed in the USAF.

After retirement from the service, the couple returned to Coeur d’Alene and a few years later built a home in the West Plains area of Spokane.

Naida was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spokane for over 35 years where she was active in the alter circle and LWML.

Naida loved to grow and arrange flowers and was a member of the Lincoln Heights Garden Club and the Spokane Flower Arrangers Club.

She also enjoyed painting flowers and various watercolors.

Naida was preceded in death by her sisters Grace Smith of Priest River, ID, Billie Stanley of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and her brother Thomas Hunt of Tacoma, WA.

She is survived by her husband Stanley Dupree of Spokane; son Paul Dupree (Julie) of Libby, MT; sister Margret Toomey of Sandpoint, ID; granddaughters Rhiannon O’Neill of Marysville, WA, Danielle Dupree of Murray, UT; and grandson Christian Dupree of Barksdale AFB, LA.

Naida was deeply loved by all her family and friends and heaven will be a better place with her there.

A memorial service will be held for her on Saturday, August 1, 11:00am at St. John’s Lutheran Church located on Hwy 195 South at 5810 Meadow Lane Rd., Spokane, WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Building Fund.
